My name is Emma Howitt and I’ve recently graduated from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK with a BA(Hons) degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I am fascinated by the natural world and science and these are very inspirational to my work. My ultimate goal is to become an illustrator of children’s books and educational books, especially in the sciences. I also have something of the aspiring author about me and enjoy creating characters and environments. Unfortunately the stories that ought to accompany the pictures rarely make it to paper so I may have to stick at being an illustrator for now, which, in the end, is the best career in the world!

Hi Emma, nice work! Did you happen to see C4 news last night? An illustrator creates colouring-in books for adults, has sold 20 million copies – you’re style would lend itself to something like this too – you should find a publisher.
