So I’m going to be back at The Melton Bookshop today, redesigning the window. For this year we’re thinking of decorating the window with scenes from prominent children’s books and what better to start with than Alice in Wonderland which celebrates its 150th (150th!) anniversary this year.
Choosing the scene to portray really wasn’t a hard decision. The owner and I both love the Cheshire cat (doesn’t everyone?) so deciding that was easy. I have also managed to squeeze the white rabbit in there too along with the caterpillar who’s kindly going to be smoking out the quote for us. (I’m unsure whether it’s a good idea to show any form of smoking in illustrations any more but as it’s in context then we shall go ahead and see what the response is)!
